Anonymous asked: Is there a way for me to get rid of the annoying "Do you want to use '[Volume Name]' as your Time Machine backup?" prompts?

Yeah! haha. I just taught our systems admin this trick yesterday! Congrats on being my first question.

Open Terminal (Applications/Utilities/Terminal.app) and type this at the prompt:

defaults write com.apple.TimeMachine DoNotOfferNewDisksForBackup -bool YES

That should take care of that.  If you ever want to turn it back on, just change the YES to a NO and you’ll be back in business.
