Stacks has an experimental view that is more like a Finder windows’ List view. In order to enable, open up terminal and type: defaults write com.apple.dock use-new-list-stack -bool YES Then: killall Dock Now right click on a stack and make sure it’s set to “View content as: List” and when you click on it you’ll see it expand like above. via Mac OS X Hints (via finermac) I had this queued, but finermac beat me to it.
