spytap: drintelmann: Olympus Pen Augmented Reality Demo  Very nice use of augmented reality. One of the first that I’ve seen that is actually useful.  Well this is fucking rad. Also, please file under “things your parents couldn’t have dreamed of” or “we live in the future.” My head just exploded all over my desk.

Facebook: an admittedly lazy attempt at...
Lately I’ve been taking a break from this blog to work on my musician stuff. I’ve been sort of living under a rock as far as tech news goes. Normally, I would be reading into just about anything that even remotely interests me in the tech world, but lately I’ve just been too busy living in my own head to really find out what is going on beyond the twitter posts. That was until I...

Damn, Gizmodo.
newsweek: marco: Did you really need to publicly shame the poor guy with his full name and photo? Don’t you think he feels bad enough already? Did that really add anything to the story? You just took a dark time in this man’s life — caused only by his negligence, not malice — and made it much worse. For what reason? Did you make anyone’s lives better by having done that? Agreed. This poor...

Shameless Self Promotion
Hey guys- Obviously it’s been a while since I posted anything. Thought I’d let you know that I’ve sort of put this blog on hold until I’m done making this record I started working on last week. It’s one of those “I have to do this now and I’m not going to stop until it’s done” things. I do intend to get back to reblogging and posting...

#Music Monday: iTunes Sprucing
I highly recommend these applications that I’ve been using for organizing my iTunes library. CoverSutra This is a pretty great way to get control over your iTunes library with your keyboard. You can rate songs, change songs, change playlist, search songs and even scrobble to Last.fm. Snoop around with the preferences to get your keyboard shortcuts where you want them. Get Lyrical ...

Anonymous asked: dear diary, ~50% of the time (yes, really) i use the generic snow leopard option to burn a disc, it fails during verification, creating more coasters and wasting my time. when i use iTunes or the Toast Titanium 10 Special Pirated Edition, everything is cool. what the hell, generic burn folder!

#Thirsty Thursday: Beer Geekery
Don’t Lose Your Head. So our manufacturer calls this a pilsner, but our resident beer geek monkeys say this is a glass designed for the perfect Weizen beer, aka a wheat beer glass. That tapering at the top allows for focus of the aroma that you don’t get in your traditional pilsner glass. But, of course, the most important part of this glass is the embiggening that allows for...

#Tip Tuesday: Add Weather to iCal
Awesome tip for such a craptastic morning here in Boston. I came in sick to work this morning and I’ll be honest- I have no real work to do so I’ll probably be queuing up some post for the week. Before I do that it seemed fitting to share a little tip to collect weather updates into iCal. Here’s the step by step: First, go to Weather Underground and type in the city state or...

Quit Safari and put this into a Terminal window: defaults write com.apple.Safari WebKitOmitPDFSupport -bool YES There we go. Problem...

My Tumblr Feature Proposal
Hey Tumblr, it’s me. I really love you. I think thats obvious. You guys give me access to all the HTML and CSS I can handle and give beginners all the beautiful templates and ideas they can process. You truly established an awesome community of bloggers (and teenage hipster girls who have an inflated sense of relevance, but I’m ok with that. I mean, some people probably think that...

A Possible Fix For Slow Mouse Tracking.
One thing I’ve always been annoyed by on Mac OS X and Apple mice is that I have to max out the tracking speed to get it to where I can even avoid getting carpal tunnel. I can’t figure out how people with 30” monitors deal with it this way. A fix for this is once again hidden in the UNIX Terminal (Applications/Utilities/Terminal.app). Open Terminal and type defaults write -g...

Lyons Has Seen the Google Buzz. Lyons is Not...
His take: Why, Google? Why take a perfectly wonderful email system and pollute it by adding a zillion new things to it? I’m not looking for more clutter in my life. I’m looking for less. At the launch event some Google exec claimed Buzz is a way to “find the signal in the social neworking noise,” but to me it just looks like Google is adding to the noise. Why does Buzz even exist? Is it...

How To Be An 'Expert' During An Apple Event
Make fun of the way it looks and call it “unusable”. Sit back down in front of your enormous PC desktop running Windows XP with old installers and indecipherable driver filenames covering your wallpaper. Say the name “iPad” is stupid. Hate the product based on that fact alone. Make fun of the name again. Funnier this time. Look desperately around the room for validation...
